Melodies made from these settings

Each example is what the MIDI Agent wrote from the settings and description shown. Play it, then load the same settings into the form above.

A bright pop chorus hook that opens on a repeated note, climbs in bar three and peaks on a long high note before it falls back home.

An Irish session tune on the flute: running eighth notes, little rolls and turns, and a second phrase that answers the first before it comes round again.

A laid-back 12-bar blues head with call-and-response licks, blue notes on the strong beats and plenty of space between phrases, like a late-night club set.

AI Melody Generator

Set the key, scale, mood, bar count, tempo and lead instrument. The MIDI Agent writes one melody line, one note at a time, straight into a piano roll you can play and edit. Ask for a variation in plain words, then download the .mid and drag it into your DAW.
How it works

From a few settings to a melody in your DAW

1Step 1

Set key, scale and mood

Pick the key, a scale such as minor or major pentatonic, a mood, 4 to 16 bars, a tempo and the instrument. Add a line about the melody if you like.

2Step 2

Send it to the MIDI Agent

The MIDI Agent opens next to a piano roll with your brief ready. Press send and it writes the notes into the editor.

3Step 3

Play, tweak and export

Listen back, ask for changes in plain words, like "make bar 4 climb higher", then download a standard .mid from the editor's File menu.

What you get

A MIDI Melody Generator for Producers and Songwriters

A melody you can drag into a DAW, not an audio file you have to transcribe.

One melody line, one track

The brief asks for a single monophonic line on its own track: no chords, harmony, bass, or drums. That is the part you would otherwise hum into your phone and try to work out later. If a result stacks two notes at once or adds another track, ask the Agent to keep only the melody line, or delete the extra notes by hand.

Key, scale and mood up front

Pick one of twelve keys and eight scales: major, minor, harmonic minor, dorian, mixolydian, major or minor pentatonic, and blues. Add a mood from uplifting and dreamy to tense and epic. The melody starts, leans on, and ends around the home note of the key, so it sits in the song you are writing and resolves where you expect it to.

Exact length and tempo

Choose 4, 8, 12, or 16 bars of 4/4 and a tempo from 60 to 180 BPM to match your beat or session. Within 16 bars the Agent writes every note itself. Add a line about the idea, such as a pop chorus hook that starts low and climbs to a long note at the end, and it shapes the phrase around that.

Edit it by asking

Ask in plain words, like “make bar 4 climb higher”, “add a pickup note”, or “resolve the last two bars lower”. The Agent edits the notes right in the piano roll, and you can undo any change or move notes by hand. Each message to the MIDI Agent uses credits, while choosing the settings on this page uses none.

Vocal melody generator

Pick the voice-like lead and describe the line, for example a chorus hook that stays in a comfortable range, to sketch a topline for your song. You get the melody as MIDI to sing your own words over; it doesn't add lyrics or a sung voice. Play it back in the editor until the phrasing feels natural, then write the words to fit.

Standard .mid export

Open the editor's File menu and choose Download MIDI File to get a standard .mid for Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, GarageBand, or any other DAW. Load it onto any synth or sampler you like; the instrument picked here is only the starting General MIDI sound. To hear it sung over a backing track, take the file to MIDI to song.
