Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may collect certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • OAuth profile information (display name, email address, and profile picture) provided by Your third-party authentication provider (Google or Apple)
  • Billing information (when You make a purchase): phone number, billing address, company name, and tax ID
  • Subscription and payment data: plan type, billing cycle, and transaction history
  • Credit usage and transaction records
  • Usage Data

Google Sign-In and Google User Data

When You choose Sign in with Google, including Google One Tap, JOYLINK LTD receives Your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile picture to create or identify Your lacuna.fm Account. Our Google sign-in permissions are limited to basic identity, email, and profile information. We do not request access to Your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Calendar, or contacts. We do not receive Your Google password.

Depending on the sign-in method and the information returned by Google, We also receive and may store authentication tokens, the permissions granted, and token expiry information as part of Your sign-in record.

How We use this information. We use Your Google account identifier and email address to recognize You when You sign in, associate Your activity with Your Account, manage access to subscriptions and credits, and provide account support. Your display name and profile picture populate Your account profile. Your display name can also appear as the author on music and sharing pages when You make content public. We also use account identifiers and email addresses, including hashed versions, for security and to prevent repeated claims of free credits through account deletion and re-registration.

Who receives this information. Our hosting, database, and operational service providers process account and sign-in records to operate and support the Service. Authorized administrators can access account information for support, billing, and security work. If You start a payment through Stripe, We provide Stripe with Your account email address and display name to create Your billing customer record, together with the billing information You provide. These account details may originally have come from Google Sign-In. We may also disclose account information where necessary to comply with legal obligations or address fraud and security incidents.

Where Google Ads enhanced conversions are enabled, We use Your account or checkout email address for registration or purchase measurement. The email address is hashed in Your browser or on Our servers before being sent to Google, together with registration or purchase event details and, where available, advertising click identifiers. Google uses these signals to match conversions to ad interactions. This may include an email address obtained through Google Sign-In. This processing is subject to the applicable advertising consent settings; where the Website presents a cookie consent choice, rejecting it sets advertising data consent to denied. See Google's explanation of enhanced conversions for how this matching works.

We do not sell Your Google sign-in information or use it to train general-purpose AI or machine-learning models. We do not automatically send Your Google sign-in credentials to AI generation providers as generation inputs. Prompts, lyrics, audio, and other content You choose to submit to AI features are handled as described in AI Feature Data and Third-Party Processing below. The uses and recipients described in this Google Sign-In section define Our handling of Google sign-in information; the general marketing and partner-sharing descriptions elsewhere in this Policy do not authorize additional uses of that information.

Storage and protection. We store Google profile and sign-in records in Our server-side account database. We use HTTPS for communication between Your browser or App and the Service, verify sign-in credentials on the server, and use authentication and role-based access controls to restrict access to account administration. Account information is retained while Your Account is active. Account deletion does not automatically erase all stored profile information, authentication records, or content; the deletion and retention arrangements below also apply to Google sign-in information.

Your choices and deletion requests. You can review or remove the lacuna.fm connection on Your Google Account connections page. Removing the connection stops the relevant Google sign-in or access connection, but does not itself delete information already held by Us or close Your lacuna.fm Account. You can use the account deletion control in the Website or App to end access to Your Account, and You can email support@lacuna.fm to request access to, correction of, or erasure of stored Google profile and sign-in information. See Delete Your Personal Data below for what account deletion does and how retained information is handled.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. Usage Data may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, Your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, Your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. We may also collect information that Your browser sends whenever You visit our Service or when You access the Service by or through a mobile device. We collect Your IP address and may derive approximate location information (country, region, city) from it. We also maintain audit logs of account activities, such as login events and credit transactions.

Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze Our Service. The technologies We use may include:

  • Cookies or Browser Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. You can instruct Your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if You do not accept Cookies, You may not be able to use some parts of our Service. Unless you have adjusted Your browser setting so that it will refuse Cookies, our Service may use Cookies.
  • Web Beacons. Certain sections of our Service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity). Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session" Cookies. Persistent Cookies remain on Your personal computer or mobile device when You go offline, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as You close Your web browser. We use both Session and Persistent Cookies for the purposes set out below:
  • Necessary / Essential Cookies Type: Session Cookies Administered by: Us Purpose: These Cookies are essential to provide You with services available through the Website and to enable You to use some of its features. They help to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts. Without these Cookies, the services that You have asked for cannot be provided, and We only use these Cookies to provide You with those services.
  • Cookies Policy / Notice Acceptance Cookies Type: Persistent Cookies Administered by: Us Purpose: These Cookies identify if users have accepted the use of cookies on the Website.
  • Functionality Cookies Type: Persistent Cookies Administered by: Us Purpose: These Cookies allow us to remember choices You make when You use the Website, such as remembering your login details or language preference. The purpose of these Cookies is to provide You with a more personal experience and to avoid You having to re-enter your preferences every time You use the Website. For more information about the cookies we use and your choices regarding cookies, please visit our Cookies Policy or the Cookies section of our Privacy Policy.

AI Feature Data and Third-Party Processing

When You use Our AI music or lyrics features, the audio, text prompts, lyrics, reference materials, and generation settings You provide are sent to third-party AI service providers solely to process Your request. Those providers may temporarily retain inputs and outputs for processing, security, abuse prevention, and service reliability, subject to Our agreements with them. Generated content, task status, timestamps, and related metadata may be stored in Our cloud infrastructure. We do not use Your uploaded or generated content to train general-purpose AI models. When You explicitly request a personal singing voice, We use the recording You provide to train Your private voice model.

We send this data only after You give explicit AI data-sharing consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time in the App under Account > Data & AI. If You use the Website or another client, email support@lacuna.fm to request withdrawal. Once withdrawal is processed, new data is no longer sent to third-party AI providers and features that require that sharing are disabled. Withdrawal does not reverse processing already completed or require immediate deletion of information that must be retained for security, legal, or operational reasons. You may consent again later.

Private Singing-Voice Samples and Voice Covers

When You create a personal singing voice, We process the training recording You provide and its prepared vocal dataset to train a reusable private voice model. Voice covers process source-song vocals and accompaniment using the selected trained voice, and produce converted vocals and mixed output. We retain the voice owner, content version, processing status, model and index artifacts, and Your material-specific rights declaration, including its purpose, confirmation version, time, and entry point. This declaration is separate from Your account-level AI data-sharing consent.

Private recordings, prepared datasets, trained voice models, and indexes are held in access-controlled Cloudflare R2 storage. They are not published in a public voice library. Authenticated preview and task processing use short-lived access links. Our application and audio-preparation services handle decoding, dataset preparation, and mixing. Our RVC service runs personal voice training and conversion on Modal or RunPod according to the configured provider. Where a recording needs vocal separation, Replicate processes the relevant audio through the separation model. These providers receive the material needed for that step; provider-side retention is subject to the applicable service arrangements. The RVC task workspace removes user audio, temporary features, training checkpoints, and local model copies after successful and failed processing. Private models are not cached across users. We do not use these recordings to train general-purpose AI models.

Private voices remain stored for reuse until You delete them; We do not currently apply an automatic expiry period for saved voices. Unfinished uploads are scheduled for cleanup after 24 hours. A voice cannot be deleted while its training or cover tasks are waiting or processing. Deletion immediately disables further use and starts removing its stored recording, prepared dataset, model, index, and associated private processing objects. Background cleanup repeats removal during a ten-hour window to catch uploads already in progress, and retries storage deletion failures. Rights declarations, task history, and billing records may remain for the purposes described under retention below. Deleting a voice does not also delete completed cover Tracks already produced from it. Completed outputs are separate music assets and follow the Service's content storage and sharing controls; their delivery URLs are not covered by the private-voice storage restriction. Deleting Your Account does not automatically erase Your private voices or the recordings, datasets, and models behind them. Delete those voices first, or contact support@lacuna.fm to request erasure of retained data as described below.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service.
  • To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data You provide can give You access to different functionalities of the Service that are available to You as a registered user.
  • For the performance of a contract: the development, compliance and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items or services You have purchased or of any other contract with Us through the Service.
  • To contact You: To contact You by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a mobile application's push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, products or contracted services, including the security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.
  • To provide You with news, special offers and general information about other goods, services and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about unless You have opted not to receive such information.
  • To manage Your requests: To attend and manage Your requests to Us.
  • For business transfers: We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by Us about our Service users is among the assets transferred.
  • For other purposes: We may use Your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Service, products, services, marketing and your experience. We may share Your personal information in the following situations:
  • With Service Providers: We may share Your personal information with Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to contact You.
  • For business transfers: We may share or transfer Your personal information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business to another company.
  • With Affiliates: We may share Your information with Our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. • With other users: when You share personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas with other users, such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside.
  • With Your consent: We may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your consent.

Retention of Your Personal Data

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. Account, consent, subscription, and transaction records are generally retained while Your Account is active. Uploaded materials, prompts, generated content, and task records may be retained while they remain available in the Service; copies held temporarily by third-party AI providers may follow shorter provider-specific retention periods. After deletion, residual copies may remain for a limited time in backups before expiring through normal backup cycles. The Company will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of Our Service, or We are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. It means that this information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from Your jurisdiction. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by Your submission of such information represents Your agreement to that transfer. The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of Your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of Your data and other personal information.

Delete Your Personal Data

You may delete individual content where the Service offers a delete control. Using the account deletion control in account settings on the Website or in the App ends access to Your Account and disables public sharing of Your music tracks and music sessions through the Service. It does not automatically erase all stored account information, authentication records, uploaded or generated content, or transaction history.

To request erasure of retained Personal Data, including Google profile information and sign-in records, email support@lacuna.fm. You can also contact Us to request access or correction. We will review Your request and explain any information that needs to be retained and the reason for retaining it. Records may need to be retained for tax, accounting, payment disputes, fraud and security prevention, enforcement of Our agreements, or other legal obligations. This can include hashed identity and credit-claim records used to prevent repeated free-credit claims. A request to erase data does not necessarily require deletion of those records, and erasure from active systems does not necessarily remove every backup copy at the same time.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Business Transactions

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Law enforcement

Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Other legal requirements

The Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of the Company
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
  • Protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public
