From your melody to a finished recording
Upload your MIDI
Use a standard .mid or .midi file from your DAW or notation app. Keep the tune in a clear lead track when possible. Files stay local until you submit the music brief and confirm your rights.
Choose and confirm the melody
In the music workspace, select the track that carries the tune and hear the prepared melody. For a chordal track, the preview shows the extracted upper line so you can decide whether it is the melody you intended.
Describe the song around it
Add your lyrics or ask the Agent to write them, choose vocals or instrumental, and describe the arrangement. Generate a take with Lacuna Cadence, then listen and compare before keeping it.
A musical starting point you can review
Start with notes you already have
Hear the line before spending generation credits
Make a new recording around a clear theme
Put the workflow to work
Start with the material you already have, then describe the result you want.
A chorus written at the keyboard
Record a single melodic line, export the MIDI, and ask for an indie-pop chorus with drums, bass and a clear vocal. Add the lyric you want the chorus to sing.
A game or film motif
Use a short original theme as the starting point for an instrumental. Describe the scene, energy and instruments while keeping the MIDI as the melodic reference.
An arrangement of your own lead line
Bring a longer melody and explore a different ensemble. Use straightforward, constant-tempo material first, then compare the recording with your source.
AI MIDI to Song Generator FAQ
No. This page generates a new AI performance and arrangement around a selected melody. MIDI to MP3 and MIDI to WAV play the existing MIDI notes with a synthesizer. Use those converters when you want a deterministic audio rendering.
Yes. The workspace lets you choose a usable track and preview its prepared melody. A polyphonic track is reduced to an upper-voice candidate; it is not a guarantee of automatic lead detection. Drums and unsupported pitch-bend material may not be usable as a melody.
The selected melody is preserved in the score submitted to Lacuna Cadence, after the preparation you confirm. The audio model can interpret its rhythm, register and phrasing differently. Review each result; use MIDI audio rendering for exact note playback.
Melodies shorter than one minute are developed into a full-song plan with theme and variation sections. Longer MIDI melodies use the arrangement path. The complete score must fit within five minutes and use a supported, constant-tempo timeline.
Yes. Add lyrics in the composer or ask the Agent to develop them. Switch to instrumental for music without vocals. A melody-guided song uses Lacuna Cadence.
Selecting a local file does not spend credits. Creating an account and generating music follow Lacuna’s current credit pricing; Agent messages and song generation are charged separately. Review the current price in the workspace.
Use Sheet Music to Song to recognize the score first, or Hum to Song to record or upload one clear melody. Both continue into the same melody-guided music workspace.
