Take the hiss of a cheap microphone or the hum of a home setup out of an episode before you edit it.
Clean the hiss, fan noise and hum out of a podcast, a voice-over or a phone recording. The removed noise comes back as its own track, so you can compare and decide how clean is clean enough.
MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A or OGG, up to 50 MB and 12 minutes. Split a longer recording into parts first.
Processing separates the steady noise from the voice and returns both as tracks you can play side by side.
Switch between the original and the clean audio, then download the clean track as MP3 or WAV.
Clean up the recording you already have instead of waiting for a quieter one.
Take the hiss of a cheap microphone or the hum of a home setup out of an episode before you edit it.
Clean up a take recorded in a home booth or a hotel room before you send it on.
Make a lecture, an interview or a voice memo with a fan or air conditioner behind it easier to listen to.
Remove the steady hiss under a vocal take before you mix it or send it to someone who will.
Upload the recording and start processing. The result opens with the clean audio playing and the removed noise muted on its own track. Compare it with the original, then download the clean track as MP3 or WAV.
It works best on steady noise that runs under the whole recording: hiss, fan and air-conditioner noise, electrical hum and constant room noise. Sudden or changing sounds, such as a dog barking, a door, keyboard clicks or other people talking, can stay in the clean track.
Music is not noise to this tool, so it mostly stays in. Use a music remover instead, such as Remove Background Music from Video, which also takes audio files and puts the voice, the music and other sounds on separate tracks.
On light noise the voice usually sounds the same, just cleaner. Heavy noise can leave the voice slightly thin or watery where the noise was strongest. If that happens, bring a little of the removed noise back in the mixer and export that blend.
No. Room echo is reflected sound, not noise, and needs a separate pass. Use Reverb Remover for a recording that sounds distant or echoey.
Each upload can be up to 12 minutes and 50 MB. Split a longer episode into parts in your editor, process each part, and join the clean tracks again afterwards.
Applause and cheering change from moment to moment, so they are handled by a different model. Use Crowd Noise Remover for live recordings.
Upload MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A or OGG. The clean track and the removed noise download as MP3 or WAV, depending on the output format you choose before processing; WAV output costs twice the credits of MP3. A mix exported from the mixer is saved as WAV.
